Meet John Tyler
A Lifetime of Vail Valley Expertise
Raised in Vail, shaped by the world, and rooted in the valley, John brings a rare blend of local depth and global perspective to Eagle County real estate.

John's Story
From Vail, to the World, and Home Again
John Tyler's story with the Vail Valley began long before he became one of its most respected real estate professionals. He grew up in Vail and graduated from Vail Mountain School in 1984 before heading east to Hamilton College in upstate New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English.
After college, his curiosity for the world took him to Osaka, Japan, where he taught English to corporate executives. That was the start of more than a decade of international experience across international business, logistics, customs brokerage, and a Colorado industrial-sales venture he founded in 1995.
Two young children and an enduring love of the mountains eventually drew him home. In November 2004, John earned his Colorado broker's license and joined Slifer Smith & Frampton, following his mother, Carroll Tyler, into the business. He earned his GRI designation in 2006 and built a reputation for exceptional service, becoming one of Slifer Smith & Frampton's most experienced and trusted Vail brokers.
Today, as Branch Manager, John leads a team with partner Lindsay Bruce and consulting brokers Rick Pirog and Carroll Tyler, together bringing decades of Eagle County expertise, guided by the same values that have defined his career: trust, honesty, and genuine care for every client's outcome.
