A New Home Online for Vail and the Eagle River Valley

For years, if you wanted to find me online, you had a phone number and a brokerage page, and that was about it. Today that changes. After months of work, johntylerrealestate.com is live, and it is the home base I always wished I could hand the people who reach out to me: a real guide to buying and selling in Vail and the Eagle River Valley, built from the ground up, and available start to finish in both English and Spanish.

I was raised in Vail. I left for a first career that ran from teaching in Osaka to international business in San Francisco and five years with a Japanese logistics firm, and then in 2004 I came home to follow my mother, Carroll, into the business. I joined Slifer Smith & Frampton and began learning the craft from the best brokers in the business, and just a few years ago I joined forces with Carroll herself. More than $900 million in Valley transactions later, the one thing that has never changed is that this is home. I wanted a website that felt that way too: less of a billboard, more of a front porch.

Why I Built This

Most agent websites are a headshot, a phone number, and a scroll of listings. I wanted something that actually helps, whether or not you are ready to talk to anyone yet. So the site leads with information instead of a sales pitch. If you are trying to understand a neighborhood, read the market, or work out how to buy from another state or another country, you should be able to get honest answers here, on your own time, long before you ever pick up the phone.

A Guide to Every Neighborhood

The Vail Valley is not one market. It is really a dozen of them, each with its own feel, price, and rhythm, strung along the valley floor from East Vail down to Gypsum. The site has a deep guide to each one: Vail Village and Lionshead, Beaver Creek with Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead, Edwards, Avon, Eagle-Vail, Eagle, and more. These are not filtered listing stubs. They are real writing about what it is actually like to live in each place. Start with the neighborhoods hub and wander.

Getting to Know the Valley

A home here is really about the life around it, so the site goes well beyond listings. Over two decades of working with buyers and sellers, the same questions come up again and again, so I have written in-depth guides that answer them. If you are searching with children, there is a guide to the schools of the Vail Valley. If the outdoors are what pull you here, there are guides to fly fishing the local rivers, mountain biking the trails, and the best hikes in the area. It is the kind of local knowledge and insight I would share with you over coffee, gathered in one place so you can get to know the Vail Eagle River Valley, whether as a full-time home or a second home, well before you ever arrive.

The Market, Read Honestly

I also publish a market update that reads the Valley by the numbers rather than the hype: where prices are really moving, how long homes are taking to sell, and what is happening at the very top of the market. My mid-year market update is the current edition, and I keep it straight even when the honest read is a complicated one.

Buying or Selling, From Near or Far

Most people who buy here live somewhere else, in another state or another country, and most come out to see the valley before they decide. So I wrote full guides for both sides of a deal: a step-by-step walk through buying from out of state or abroad, covering financing as a non-resident, closing remotely, and the taxes nobody warns you about, and a seller's guide that lays out how I price, prepare, and market a home, and what it actually costs to sell. Wherever you are, the process is built to work.

Fully Bilingual, in English and Spanish

This is a part of the site I am proud of, because very few brokers in this valley take this approach. The entire site, every neighborhood guide, every market report, and every buyer and seller resource, exists in both English and Spanish. Not a translate button, but a real Spanish version, written and indexed so a Spanish-speaking buyer can actually find it and read it. I work with my clients in English, and a Spanish-speaking buyer is fully supported at every step of the process through trusted resources I have built around me. I know how much this matters, and how much it matters to have strong resources in place for the Latin American market, which has long been underserved in this valley. It is a commitment I intend to keep.
